“Hesed” is Hebrew for God’s lovingkindness: steadfast love in action.
The group of people who went to Haiti last June have continued to meet and plan upcoming mission trips for 2013.
The congregation is invited to an informational meeting after the Bible Study Hour at 11:30 on January 20 in the Large Fellowship Hall. A light lunch will be provided by the Heseders.
During the meeting, plans for a June trip within the USA, which will be suitable for families with children, will be presented for discussion. There are also one or two out-of-the-country trips in the works for later in the year.
All interested members of Saint John’s are invited to come and see what we are up to. We would love to have you join in our plans or support our various projects.
“Hesed” is a Hebrew word that means “kindness”, “mercy”, “loyalty”, “loving-kindness” or “steadfastness.” It’s the way God intends us to live together—a “love your neighbor as yourself”, active, selfless, sacrificial, caring-for-one-another brand of living contradictory to our fallen natures. The “Heseders” are continually looking to work together to share some small measure of God’s extraordinary love. Won’t you join us?
