The Haiti Mission Group “Heseders” gave a presentation to a full house in the Large Fellowship Hall on July 19. Thanks to all of the congregation members and guests who came to see the photos and hear stories about the trip!

Member Janet Else shared the following note after the presentation:

After hearing the inspiring report from the Haitian mission group last Sunday, I feel compelled to offer my accolades to the group for a “job well-done.” From the very beginning stages of planning to the fund raising efforts to the actual trip to Haiti (including the daily blog entries) to the excellent organization of the presentation last Sunday afternoon—the whole process and project reflected excellent organization and teamwork. In retrospect, what a thrill it must be for the participants to have been a member of that team. And what a joy it is to be a member of Saint John’s and to have had the opportunity to support that mission! God bless each of you and God bless the mission efforts in Haiti.

Thank you, Janet!

“Hesed” is a Hebrew word that means “kindness”, “mercy”, “loyalty”, “loving-kindness” or “steadfastness.” It’s the way God intends us to live together—a “love your neighbor as yourself”, active, selfless, sacrificial, caring-for-one-another brand of living contradictory to our fallen natures. The “Heseders” are continually looking to work together to share some small measure of God’s extraordinary love. Won’t you join us?
