While the group was in Haiti, team member RoxAnn was discovered surreptitiously snapping pictures of everyone’s feet. We found out what she was up to when we returned home: she put together the image, below, with this text from Isaiah 52:7, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation.”
What wonderful words of encouragement for the mission team and for all of the amazing people at Saint John’s who worked so hard and gave so much to support this mission!
“Hesed” is a Hebrew word that means “kindness”, “mercy”, “loyalty”, “loving-kindness” or “steadfastness.” It’s the way God intends us to live together—a “love your neighbor as yourself”, active, selfless, sacrificial, caring-for-one-another brand of living contradictory to our fallen natures. The “Heseders” are continually looking to work together to share some small measure of God’s extraordinary love. Won’t you join us?
