Heseder Kimberly let us know that Heartline Ministries, the organization that hosted our Haiti team in 2012, has just officially opened their Beltis Bakery. We helped work on this facility when we were in Haiti (it was at the then-just-purchased “Ok Coral” area). We were cleaning and rewiring—it looks like they've made a lot of progress since then!
Jesus is the "Bread of Life" and this program isn't only about baking bread, but is designed to teach men what it means to be disciples of Jesus Christ and how to share the Living Bread as well. It encourages, supports, and stands with men as they become involved fathers and husbands while growing into honest men with Godly character who are known for their integrity.Heartline Ministry Website, “Our Work”
It's exciting to see this men's ministry get off the ground. Heartline reports that the bakery has been very successful in its first few days.
“Hesed” is a Hebrew word that means “kindness”, “mercy”, “loyalty”, “loving-kindness” or “steadfastness.” It’s the way God intends us to live together—a “love your neighbor as yourself”, active, selfless, sacrificial, caring-for-one-another brand of living contradictory to our fallen natures. The “Heseders” are continually looking to work together to share some small measure of God’s extraordinary love. Won’t you join us?
