The Lord instructed Israel to teach His Word diligently to their children (Deuteronomy 6:7–12) so that one generation might declare to another the mighty works of God. Today, the Church is the flock of sheep hearing the Lord’s voice and His disciples are those who abide in His Word and thus know the truth that sets them free. Disciples need to continually meditate on and learn God’s Word in Christ, for it is the only Word that gives and sustains life now and forever.
