When Isaiah “saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up,” he was overcome with an awareness of his sin. The Lord took away his guilt and sanctified his lips with a burning coal to send Isaiah as His prophet. When Peter and his companions caught a miraculous haul of fish at the Word of Jesus, Peter said, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man.” Jesus comforted Simon and declared that he would be “catching men.” So, too, are we instructed in the faith, that we say “Amen” and return our thanks with heart, mind, tongue and life.
