When the burden of leading the people of Israel became too much for Moses, God “took some of the Spirit that was on him and put it on the seventy elders,” that Moses would not carry the burden alone. The life of the Church is one of repentant faith in Christ. We confess our sins to God and to one another, and we pray for one another’s healing and comfort. Together as Christ’s baptized saints, we are raised by Him who covers “a multitude of sins” and saves our souls from death.
