Our tongues endlessly boast, for good, yes, but all too often for evil and falsity. The Bible speaks highly of those able to bridle their tongues, teachers who share the gospel and who exclaim with the father in today’s gospel, “I believe; help my unbelief!” Above all, our example is Jesus, who opened His ears to His father and was vindicated in His resurrection. By His faithfulness, we are cleansed from every evil and raised up to new life.
