Sin gets in the way of our drawing near to God. How often do we offer God praises while our hearts are far removed from Him? Thankfully, God comes to us. Jesus delivered us salvation by His cross. Though our worldly wisdom falters, he makes the deaf hear and the blind see. Christ saved His bride, the Church, not because of any works that she has done, but solely for the sake of His great love. He “gave Himself up for her, that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word.”
