The serpent still entices us to disobey the Word of God, even as it did in the garden, driving us to hide from God in shame. But the Lord promised a Savior, the “strong man” of Mark chapter three who would bind up Satan and plunder his house. We, who see the cross’ cost and have seen its victory, “do not lose heart.” Despite the suffering, sin and death that we experience in this fallen world, we will be raised with Jesus into “an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.”
