Our annual Baby Bottle Campaign for the Alpha Center begins on Mother’s Day and ends Father’s Day. Bottles will be distributed at the end of the worship service for Saint John’s families to fill with coins, bills, or checks as donations to the Alpha Center.
This organization is deserving of our support as they assist young people with Christian counseling and medical services during crisis situations, particularly unplanned pregnancies. As you fill your bottle, let your children be part of the giving. Explain as much as you feel they are ready to hear about making healthy choices as they grow in age and in Christ.
Saint John’s recently sent 125 Baskets of Promise to Lutheran World Relief. Thanks to your generous donations, we went 25% over our set goal! We had a great time putting these together a few Sundays ago, on April 7. Many hands made the work go quickly, under Chris Rattenborg‘s organization. These health and hygiene items will used by refugees and others in poverty throughout the world.
If you would like to be a part of our board and therefore participate in all the human needs projects we sponsor, please consider joining us. We meet quarterly and are looking to include all Saint John’s members who have a heart for meeting the needs of the disadvantaged in Fort Collins. As Jesus reminds us, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
Nelly Sanford chairs Saint John’s Board of Human Needs, which finds opportunities for the members of Saint John’s to provide a Christian witness by helping people in the community struggling with daily necessities.
