Lutheran Family Services is looking for help setting up the youth in their foster care and refugee programs for school. The Board of Human Needs will be seeking new backpacks, school supplies and gift cards for clothing and shoes to help support these families. The board asks that donations be dropped off in one of the three boxes by the Welcome Center by July 23. Each box will be for a different grade; consult the lists below to decide what you’ll buy and what bin it will go in. Saint John’s volunteers will load up the backpacks with the supplies and deliver them to LFS in Greeley.

This drive is a crucial way we can support these refugee and foster care children. By giving them brand new backpacks filled with needed school supplies, and treats like gift cards and nice water bottles, we are helping equip them to get the most out of their education and reminding them that they are loved and supported.

After the 23rd we will continue to collect school supplies for Laurel Elementary. So you have two opportunities to bless needy children in our area! The Laurel supplies will be collected through August 13. Any monetary donations we receive will also be distributed to Laurel for their children’s emergency fund.

Thank you for your support!

The Board of Human Needs finds opportunities for the members of Saint John’s to provide a Christian witness by helping people in the community struggling with daily necessities.
