November is a busy month for the Board of Human Needs.
We will be donating fifteen turkey dinners to needy families at Laurel Elementary. If you would like to assist with this project, please mark your checks with “Laurel” in the memo line. Dinners will be delivered to the school on Monday, November 23.
November is also when we do a church-wide drive for Saint John’s Food Bank. Members of Human Needs will be handing out a list of items the Food Bank is short of. They may be returned any time in November or at our Thanksgiving Eve service on Wednesday the 25th.
The last Sunday in November, you will find the Giving Tree up. This tree is near the Welcome Center in the south narthex. It will contain gift ideas for disadvantaged children at Laurel. Gift certificates for the Alpha Center and Bauder Elementary are additional giving options you will find.
The next Board of Human Needs meeting will be on Saturday, November 28, 9:00 AM. We will have a business meeting, stock the Food Bank, and set up the Giving Tree. Breakfast will be provided, so please join us for this eventful morning!
