Have a great time spreading Christmas Joy with others this year! Here are a few ways that you can help.
Saint John’s Food and Clothing Bank
Thanks so much! What a lot of groceries you donated to the Food Bank in November. It took a long time to store it all away. Your Thanksgiving offering of food is much appreciated by the workers (Fran and Barb) and especially by our customers.
Thanksgiving Baskets for Laurel School
The Board gave nine Thanksgiving dinners to needy families at Laurel Elementary. Members of the board put these together and Bill Funke delivered them to the school the week of Thanksgiving. Thanks, Bill, for coordinating this project and for your continued love for the Laurel families!
The Giving Tree
The tree near the Welcome Center is Saint John’s Giving Tree, with ornaments for various needs. This year, Laurel staff asked for gifts for fifty children. There are also ornaments for donations of gift cards for Bauder Elementary families and clients of the Alpha Center. Finally, there are ornaments representing some of our Saint John's family—members who are home bound who would appreciate a Christmas season visit.
The Christmas gift packages and gift cards will be delivered the week of December 15. Be sure and have your packages and gift cards returned by Sunday, December 14. For those of you taking ornaments representing some of Saint John’s shut-ins, please remember that the visit and a card are the primary gift! Any additional gifts should be small. There is no deadline for the visit, just sometime in December.
Thanks for your willingness to support “the least of these.” Our Lord always seems to bless us as much if not more than those who receive the gifts.
