If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

Food Bank Drive

November is here, and it is time for Saint John’s traditional Thanksgiving Food Drive. Soon you’ll be given a grocery bag as you exit the sanctuary, with needed items listed on the bag.

As you do your grocery shopping, please consider picking up the following items for our Food Bank:

  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Hot cereal
  • Cold cereal
  • Soup
  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned tuna
  • Powdered milk
  • Canned fruit
  • Spaghetti
  • Mac and cheese
  • Bar soap
  • Laundry soap
  • Rice
  • Peanut butter
  • Toilet paper
  • Saltine crackers

As a caution, please check due dates on items and be sure all items are unopened!

This is the primary food drive for Saint John’s food bank, and the donations are typically the largest received all year. Thanks in advance for your continued generosity in making food available for the disadvantaged in Fort Collins.

Turkey Dinners

The Board of Human Needs will also be donating a number of Thanksgiving turkey dinners to needy families at Laurel Elementary. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please mark your donation “Turkey Dinners” and drop it into the offering plate.

Nelly Sanford chairs Saint John’s Board of Human Needs, which finds opportunities for the members of Saint John’s to provide a Christian witness by helping people in the community struggling with daily necessities.
