There's always something happening at Saint John's. Read on to keep on top of activities, signups and other opportunities!
All ladies of the congregation are most welcome to come and find out what the Mission Guild (Lutheran Women in Mission) is all about. Tuesday, March 1, at 7:00 PM in Room 301. Members, please bring your Winter 2015 Quarterlies, as we will be doing the Bible study “How Great Thou Art.”
Midweek Lenten Series
As we contemplate the “Places of the Passion” mentioned in Luke’s gospel, we meditate on Jesus’ work and discover the Lord waiting for us and willing to share with us a love that was set in place before the foundations of the world. Wednesdays, March 2, 9 and 16, at 11:00 AM and 6:30 PM services, meals at Noon and 5:45 PM in the Worship Center.
Lent Pancake Dinner
The Heseders are serving pancakes—for dinner!—to raise money for missions to Africa, Peru and closer to home. Wednesday, March 2, at 5:45 PM in the Large Fellowship Hall.
First Sunday “Eat and Greet” Potluck
Bring a dish to share and stick around after the Bible Study Hour to enjoy good food and fellowship at this picnic lunch hosted by the Board of Fellowship. Sunday, March 6, at 11:30 AM in the Large Fellowship Hall.
Anyone interested in spending some time painting alongside fellow artists—of all skill levels—is invited to come join us on the second Tuesday of each month. Tuesday, March 8, at 1:00 PM in Room 302.
Daylight Savings Ends
Remember that it’s time to “fall back” Saturday night/Sunday morning, March 12/13.
Jesus’ grand entrance into Jerusalem, which we celebrate with waving palms and shouts of “Hosanna,” sets the scene for His final acts and words before the crucifixion, which we will meditate upon in our Holy Week services. Sunday, March 20, at 12:00 AM in the Worship Center.
Holy (Maundy) Thursday
At the heart of the Holy (Maundy) Thursday liturgy are Jesus’ commands—“love one another” and “do this in remembrance of Me”—which we honor as we celebrate the holy meal, given and shed for us, and remember His sacrifice for us. Thursday, March 24, at Services at 11:00 AM and 6:30 PM in the Worship Center. There will be a ham dinner after the 11:00 am service (freewill offering).
Good Friday Tenebrae Service
At our Good Friday service, we somberly reflect on the mystery of the cross, that from a death should flow forgiveness and life. Friday, March 25, at 7:00 PM in the Worship Center.
New Life Festival
Families, come celebrate the resurrection at Saint John's at the New Life Festival, featuring live animals, face painting, egg coloring, a bouncy house, bubbles, balloons and—throughout—the great Easter message! Saturday, March 26, at 10:00 AM in the Large Fellowship Hall. Invite your family and friends!
Please bring an Easter basket for the egg hunt.
We need donations and volunteers! Please sign up at the table by the Welcome Center if you can help.
In a special service at the break of dawn we remember God’s saving grace throughout human history, which culminated in the sacrificial gift of Christ Jesus. Sunday, March 27, at 6:30 AM in the Worship Center.
The Heseder group will serve breakfast for a freewill offering to support missions. Sunday, March 27, at 7:30 AM in the Large Fellowship Hall.
We could use your help! Bake an egg casserole or bring sweet bread for the meal. Sign up sheets and recipes are at the Welcome Center. Please bring your items by 7:30 AM Easter morning.
Christ is risen—this fact informs all of our lives, for if God can raise Jesus from the dead, He can bring life to any situation; He can take away the fear of death. Sunday, March 27, at 9:00 AM in the Worship Center.
Colorado Rockies Faith Day
Sign up at the Welcome Center today for this summer Rockies game (versus the Marlins) and concert by David Crowder. Sunday, August 7; game at 2:10, concert follows. We will carpool from the church parking lot.
Garden of Remembrance
Every Easter we have the wonderful opportunity to celebrate special occasions or remember loved ones in our Garden of Remembrance, a large beautiful display of flowers at the front of the Worship Center. Please sign up for your flowers today at the table by the Welcome Center (full payment is due at the time of the order).
Baby Care Kits for Lent
Throughout Lent Saint John’s Board of Human Needs will be collecting items for Lutheran World Relief’s Baby Care Kits—two items per week, to be assembled on Palm Sunday. Drop off your donations at the Baby Box near the south stairs; directions for making diapers and gowns as well as additional donation schedules are located above the box.
Wyatt Poole Selling Coffee for School Trip to Guatemala
Wyatt Poole, a ninth grader at Poudre High School, will be selling Guatemalan coffee to help raise money for a school trip to Guatemala to develop his leadership and Spanish language skills in the Global Leaders program. Please find Wyatt or his mom, Cheryl, if you’re interested in providing him support for this servant trip.

Tuesday, at 9:00 to 11:30 AM in the Small Fellowship Hall. Drop off donations in the basket by the Welcome Center.
Choir, Bell Choir and Band Rehearsals
