This year’s Yard Sale is Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29. Please bring your donations to the Large Fellowship Hall beginning Sunday, April 23.

Volunteers to assist with set up will be appreciated Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Please sign up at the Welcome Center or feel free to just show up for a few hours. A great lunch will be provided for all volunteers all three days. If you would like to assist during the sale on Friday and Saturday, please do sign up so we can be sure the stations are covered.

And if you like to shop, have we got some good stuff for you! Many items from Haiti and Africa will be available as well as the typical “new to you” treasures.

All proceeds from the sale go to mission trips both national and international. We are planning a week in Detroit to work in the inner-city this summer. Care to join us there? Watch the bulletin for exact dates.

Please do not donate TVs or computer monitors (unless they are flatscreen) or other large electronics (the Heseders have to pay to have these recycled when they don’t sell). Smaller household items tend to go very well. If you need help with delivery to the church, check with Tom at the church office. A truck will be making the rounds one or two evenings before the sale. We prefer no large furniture because if items don’t sell we have much difficulty with storage as well as getting donation sites to accept them.

This yard sale is always great fun and could not be accomplished without the help of many Saint John’s members. Please join us: eat, fellowship and don’t forget to come and shop!

“Hesed” is a Hebrew word that means “kindness,” “mercy,” “loyalty,” “loving-kindness” or “steadfastness.” It’s the way God intends us to live together—a “love your neighbor as yourself,” active, selfless, sacrificial, caring-for-one-another brand of living contradictory to our fallen natures. The “Heseders” are continually looking to work together to share some small measure of God’s extraordinary love. Won’t you join us?
