The church council meets on the third Tuesday of every month. If you have a question or comment about a topic you read about here—or about anything pertaining to the life of Saint John’s—please contact one of your Council members. Here are the notes from the March 2013 meeting.
February offerings continued at a below budget pace, leaving a two month trend into the red. We’re hopeful that March will see a turn around.
On a positive note, all of our rental houses have now been sold and closed. The Bestians’ home has also sold and closed. Our loan to LCEF is now paid in full, with a small amount left over in the bank. Please keep in mind that while this loan expense has been eliminated, we have also lost the rental income from the Garfield Street houses. Your continued financial support and stewardship are as important now as ever!
We are continuing with preliminary information gathering. If you have not filled out an input form, please get one from the Welcome Center and return it as soon as possible. Your opinion matters. To date, we have received eight names in nomination for Senior Pastor. We do not yet have detailed information on these individuals.
Thanks to Pastor Ron and Pastor Tom for taking such good care of us during this journey.
Enrollment for next fall is currently low. We need to spread the word about this wonderful ministry of Saint John’s. Please keep Alma and Open Arms in your prayers as we look for new ways to support our school.
The annual spring congregational meeting will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013 following Bible Study. Please plan to attend.
The thirteen members of the Church Council are the “Board of Directors” of the congregation, tasked with general oversight of the life and activities of the congregation to the end that everything be done in accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws.
