The next Elderberries “Third-Thursday” potluck will be at Noon on Thursday, May 16. The program after lunch will be “A Biblical Trip to Jerusalem.”
Did you know that you can visit the Holy Land without leaving the United States? If you’re not able to make the trip overseas to Jerusalem, you can visit a theme park in Orlando, Florida, “The Holy Land Experience”, where you can tour sites like the Garden of Eden, a Jerusalem street market, the wilderness tabernacle, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Qumram Caves, the birthplace of Jesus, the garden tomb at Calvary and Pilate’s judgement hall. Throughout the park, actors put on dramas based on Biblical stories—such as ”Biblical Heroes Restored and Redeemed”, “Four Women Who Loved Jesus” and a passion play. See the Ark of the Covenant, walk the stations of the cross and enjoy musical programs throughout the day. The theme park also has the largest indoor model of Jerusalem, circa AD 66, featuring a “live” description of the city’s landmarks and Jesus’ final days.
We will see photos from a visit to the park as well as a DVD on the model of the city of Jerusalem during the time of Christ.
Everyone is invited to come enjoy a potluck lunch and the just over an hour-long presentation on Thursday, May 16!
