It is time to register for Open Arms Preschool classes for the 2011–2012 school year! Families of children who have attended our preschool and public school teachers who have had our students in their classes tell us that Open Arms provides one of highest quality preschools available in Fort Collins.
Many parents have indicated that they also have chosen Open Arms because of the Christian teachings that their child has received in the classroom, at chapel times provided by Pastor Bestian and Kim Bestian, the wonderful Kid’s Night Out—Bible Blast program, the New Life Festival and Friends and Family Night Vacation Bible School provided by Kim Bestian and Saint John’s Children’s Ministry. We want to send a great big thank you to Saint John’s for providing this Christian outreach to those families.
We have registration packets available in the holder outside Mrs. Kirk’s preschool office. If you have a child or know of a child who will be three or four years old by September 15, pick up a packet to register them for fall. If you want more information for yourself or someone else, please take a brochure (available at the Welcome Center, church office, or the sign-in shelf by the preschool hallway). We also welcome phone calls at 482-1357, or please stop by the classroom to see for yourself the fun, learning, and excitement happening there. We always encourage parents to bring their child and visit the classroom to make sure that we are the right match for each child’s needs. Thank you for participating and spreading the word to neighbors, friends, and family about this opportunity.
January has been a time to do winter projects, learn about bears, moose, pets, the arctic animals, Antarctica, Canada, Mexico, South America, Australia and our five senses.
In February we will continue our travels around the world and visit Asia and Africa. We will also learn about many community helpers, including dentists, doctors, health professionals, fire fighters and police officers. It will be a time to celebrate Valentine’s Day, especially the love of our Lord in each of our lives. We will be learning more about Jesus and the healing of the blind man, feeding the multitudes, forgiveness, and the love and giving of the good Samaritan. Through all of this we will be developing our fine and gross motor skills, learning concepts and enjoying many musical activities.
We are enjoying the wonderful time at the preschool and hope you will stop by and visit our class when you are able.
