Open Arms Preschool is back in session with a wonderful group of children and their families. We have eighteen children in the Pre-K class and nine in the preschool class. Quite a few children are returning from last year and we have added a number of siblings of children who attended before plus a number of new families. We are accepting more three- and four-year-old children in the Tuesday/Thursday Preschool class. Please pass the word to anyone looking for a quality Christian preschool!
We will be doing several fund raisers again this year and really appreciate everyone’s help. Please continue to purchase the SCRIP gift cards available at the Welcome Center on Sundays or in the church office during the week. We are in desperate need of adequate storage for equipment on the playground. Over the summer we had some items go missing and a number of items damaged. If you are able to help with this, please talk with Leon. As always, your donations are more than welcome.
In September, the children have been learning about school, friends, how special they are, feelings, colors, shapes, imagination, and nature. In October we will start with a field trip to the Environmental Learning Center, talk about transportation and space, do rhyming, fall, apples, owls, popcorn, squirrels, pumpkins, scarecrows, bats, All Hallows Eve, and take a trip to a pumpkin patch. It will be a very busy month as well as fun and educational. Our bible stories have included creation, Joseph, Hannah, Samuel, and David. We are also studying many different concepts, letters, and numbers.
I hope you will take some time to walk down the preschool hallway and check out the works of art that are posted there that the children have done. There are some very creative children at the school!
Thank you all for offering the wonderful outreach of Open Arms to so many families in the community. Thank you for all your support!
