Did you know that through the end of June 2011, $8,895 has been given to Saint John’s Church, $417 has been given to Open Arms Preschool, and $3,401 has been given to the Saint John’s Foundation by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans through their Thrivent Choice Dollars program?
Did you know that Thrivent Choice Dollars were used to help pay for the beautiful new commercial refrigerator in our downstairs kitchen?
Did you know that 10% of the funds directed to Saint John’s Church are being designated to our Human Needs Board to be used for mission work?
Did you know that if you are an eligible Thrivent Financial benefit member, you can direct Thrivent charitable funds to Saint John’s Church, Open Arms Preschool, Saint John’s Foundation and/or more that 20,000 other Lutheran organizations?
Since Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is a not-for-profit fraternal benefit society, dollars that would otherwise go for taxes are instead made available for various charitable causes, including our own congregation. If you are an eligible Thrivent benefit member, please be sure to direct your allotment of Choice Dollars by signing up online at thrivent.com or calling 1-800-847-4836 (say “Thrivent Choice” to speak to a live operator). If you are unsure whether or not you are eligible, contact Nancy Behm at 225-6586.
If you are already directing your Choice Dollars, thank you! And remember: if you did not make your direction recurring, you will have to contact Thrivent each year, either online or by phone, to continue to direct the dollars to your preferred organization(s).
