The Colorado Rockies play their National League West rivals, the San Diego Padres, on September 21, and all Elderberries (Saint John’s members over 55) are invited to come see the game. This will be the Rockies’ final home game of the year.
Sure, the Padres are fighting their way out of the bottom of the NL West standings right now, and Colorado isn’t doing much better, but, hey, it’s an autumn ball game at Coors Field—who’s going to complain about that? And neither team is doing as poorly as the Chicago Cubs, or, heaven help us, the Houston Astros, so count your blessings!
The group that went down for the game last year had a great time, and this trip is highly recommended. It’s a chance to chat with fellow Elderberries, enjoy a pleasant afternoon game and maybe have some peanuts or Cracker-Jacks.
Senior-discounted tickets are just $10, and that includes a ride in the church van down to the park. We’ll meet at 10:30 that morning to get down to Denver in time for the early afternoon game. Seating is limited, so RSVP today to Wil Shimoda (482-0101) or the church office. Please call no later than August 29.
Put on your cap and sunglasses and come enjoy America’s favorite pastime with your friends from Saint John’s.
