Saturday, October 31, Children’s Ministry provided a “Trick of Treat” fall fun event for two year olds and Preschoolers. The little ones went around the church building knocking on doors while loving members handed out special teats from behind those doors. Thanks to all who helped and those who brought their little ones for this fellowship time. Thank You, God, for fun times.
Kid’s Night Out - Bible Blast! is going great. We are blessed to have so many wonderful volunteers and children attend this media driven Bible experience. Our third one for this fall will be held Wednesday, November 11. Be sure to register and have your children invite their friends for this awesome adventure. Thank You, God, for Kid’s Night Out - Bible Blast.
Bells and snow and wonderful things that proclaim the glory of God is what this year’s Family Christmas Service is all about. The theme is “Ring Out The Good News!” This year, the Family Christmas Service will be held on Sunday, December 20th at 10:00 am. There will only be one worship service that day so that the whole congregation can benefit from this special worship that has been prepared. Sunday School and Bible classes will be held earlier that morning at 9:00 am until 9:45 am. This worship service, with many visuals, will transition us from the season of Advent to the celebration of Christmas. Dress rehearsal will be the day before, Saturday, December 19, 9:30 am until 11:00 am. Children in Preschool through the 12th grade are privileged to help lead this worship service. Thank You, God, for sending Jesus.
It has been inspiring to hear the children in the Sunday School share about their family devotions at home. In late August we sent home Family Faith Folders with all the children. Family devotional ideas were sweetly tucked inside. It is a way that the family can keep devotional resources organized and ready when needed. The September devotional topic was about Christian Character Standards which included colorful posters. In October, special devotions about offerings were distributed including bright, shiny plastic coins with a cross on one side and the words, “Jesus Loves Me” on the other side. Our offerings are one way we worship and show our love to God. Little child envelopes are to help remember to bring offerings and also to keep the amount between the giver and our Lord. November devotionals, to be sent home, will include foam fruits to promote the teachings of the fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5 and coordinate with the sermon series in Sunday worship. Children in grades 3 through 6 receive My Devotion books each quarter. If you are looking for more devotional resources for children of any age , please let me know! Thank You, God, for Your Word and family devotions!
